Terms of Use
1. Who we are
Asphalt Pro Estimator ("the app") is provided by LJM Estimators ("we", "us"), a sole trader. You can contact us at ljmestimators@gmail.com. By using the app you agree to these terms.
2. What the app does
The app has several tools. The Tonnage Calculator works out an estimated tonnage of material from the dimensions, mix, depth, density and waste allowance you enter. The Build Up tool works out the dip for each layer, and an estimated tonnage for each layer, from the kerb face, layer thicknesses and dimensions you enter. The Dip Sheet lets you record dip readings, check them against a target dip and tolerance you set, sign on screen and produce a picture or printout of the sheet. The Yield Check works out an estimated depth or distance from tonnes, width and density you enter. Jobs lets you keep the details, calculations and sheets for a job together on your device.
3. Estimates only
- The green and orange colouring on dip readings is only a guide based on the target and tolerance you type in. It is not a record of compliance with your specification.
- Build Up dips are calculated from the figures you enter, and show finished levels only. Always check them against your job specification.
- Tonnage figures are estimates based on average densities and the numbers you enter. Real material, laying conditions, depth, waste and supplier figures will differ.
- The densities in the app are starting figures. You can and should change them to match your supplier's figures.
- You are responsible for checking every quantity with your supplier before ordering, and for the accuracy of the information you enter into the app, including dip readings.
- The app is a tool to help you. It is not a substitute for your own professional judgement, site checks or contract requirements.
4. Free use and Pro
The Tonnage Calculator is free. The Dip Sheet can be tried free up to a limited number of readings. Signing, saving, downloading, sharing and printing, and unlimited readings, need Pro.
Pro is unlocked with an access code. A code is licensed for the plan it was issued for, for example one supervisor, or a company with up to a stated number of supervisors. Codes are for the person or company they were issued to and must not be shared or sold on beyond the plan. A code lasts for the period it was issued for and then stops working unless it is renewed. We may switch off a code if the plan is not paid for or these terms are broken.
5. Your data
What you enter stays on your own device. We do not collect it and cannot recover it if your device is lost, reset or cleared. Please keep your own copies of important sheets, for example by emailing the picture to the office. See our Privacy Policy for details.
6. Our responsibility
We take care to make the app accurate and reliable, but we provide it "as is" and cannot promise it will always be free of errors or available without interruption.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible for loss caused by ordering too much or too little material, for site delays, rejected work, or for loss of profit or other indirect loss arising from use of the app. Where we are found to be responsible to you, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud, or affects any legal rights you have that cannot be excluded.
7. Using the app properly
Do not copy, resell or reverse engineer the app, share access codes beyond your plan, or use the app in a way that is unlawful or that interferes with it or with other people's use of it.
8. Changes
We may update the app, its prices and these terms from time to time. We will update the effective date above when the terms change. If you carry on using the app after a change, you accept the new terms.
9. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can deal with any dispute.
